The Providence Journal PROVIDENCE — A renewed investigation into a 10-year-old murder resulted in the arrest this week in Texas of a former North Attleboro man, Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced Friday. Jason Lopes, 33, stabbed Zackary Marshall to death outside a bar on Peck Street during the early morning hours of Dec. 18, 2010, the statewide grand jury charged in an indictment unsealed this week, according to Neronha spokeswoman Kristy dosReis. Lopes was arrested several days ago in Garland, Texas, on a warrant. As of Friday afternoon, he was in custody in Texas, awaiting rendition to Rhode Island, dosReis said. DosReis said the cold case saw renewed activity recently after Providence police Detective Angelo A'Vant brought new evidence to the attorney general's office.
