From The Tribune staff reports BESSEMER — A man found dead inside a Bessemer hotel had blunt force trauma, according to Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates. Sean P. Coker, 46, of Augusta, Georgia, was found inside his room at the Quality Inn, off Academy Lane, on Saturday, April 17, 2021. Hotel staff found him around 10:30 a.m. It is unclear how long Coker was dead inside the room before he was discovered. The Bessemer Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
