Authorities say a man was killed in an exchange of gunfire with police and hospital security in the emergency room at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital Monday morning. Westerville police responded to a report of man passed out in a car, and then followed paramedics. Westerville Police Chief Charles Chandler says the man was held for pickup by Columbus Police after it was discovered he had open domestic violence and weapons violation warrents. The gunfire occured when hospital security attempted to transfer the suspect to Columbus Police. A firearm was recovered at the scene. the suspect's name has not been released.
