Man Killed In Police Involved Shooting In St. Ann ER


Authorities say a man was killed in an exchange of gunfire with police and hospital security in the emergency room at Mount Carmel St. Ann s Hospital Monday morning.  
Westerville police  responded to a report of man passed out in a car, and then followed paramedics. Westerville Police Chief Charles Chandler says the man was held for pickup by Columbus Police after it was discovered he had open domestic violence and weapons violation warrents.  The gunfire occured when hospital security attempted to transfer the suspect to Columbus Police.  
A firearm was recovered at the scene.  the suspect s name has not been released. ....

Victims Identified in Wednesday’s Police-Involved Shooting in Takoma Park
Takoma Park Police identified the two suspects who were killed during an incident involving an off-duty Pentagon Protection Force Agency police officer. They are Dominique Williams, 32, of the 7600 block of Allendale Circle in Hyattsville; and James Lionel Johnson, 38, of the 3300 block of Princess Stephanie Court in District Heights.
On the morning of April 7, officers from the Takoma Park Police Department responded to multiple reports of shots fired in a parking lot area of the Takoma Overlook Condominiums.
When authorities arrived at the condos on the 7000 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park shortly after 5 a.m., they were approached by the off-duty officer who said he observed what he thought was a car being broken into. The officer said that the suspects failed to follow his direction and attempted to flee in a vehicle. That’s when the officer discharged his service weapon, acc ....

Family of hearing-impaired retiree shot by police files wrongful death lawsuit


HAMMOND — A hearing-impaired 82-year-old man was not intoxicated and did not have a gun when he was shot by Gary police Nov. 7, 2019, a recently filed wrongful death lawsuit states.
Police have said Gary officers encountered Melvin Bouler while responding to a report of an intoxicated man with a weapon in the 2400 block of Roosevelt Street and shot him after he failed to follow officers orders.
Bouler, of Gary, died Jan. 4, 2020, at a Chicago hospital from the wounds he suffered in the shooting, according to the Cook County medical examiner s office. Gary police counted Bouler s death in 2020 as a homicide.
In a lawsuit filed last month in U.S. District Court in Hammond, attorneys for Bouler s family said Bouler s homicide was a result of hyper-aggressive policing by the responding officers. ....
