(KEYC) â The U.S. Department of Transportationâs FAA announced nearly $899 million in infrastructure and safety projects at airports across the nation. Mankato Regional Airport is doing $3.3 million in improvements. âWe have 130,000 operations out here, which makes us the second-busiest airport in the state of Minnesota,, and probably in the Midwest,â Mankato Public Works Director Jeff Johnson said. The Mankato Regional Airport is known as a hub for airplanes, private jets and aviation education.
