Also elected were Frenchman Gilles Simon and Spaniard Pablo Andujar. Daniell was elected as a doubles specialist. The Masteron born 31 year old has won five doubles titles and hit a career high ranking of 34 in 2018. The elections were confirmed a day after world number one Novak Djokovic pulled out of the elections. Djokovic recently withdrew his nomination for the council, the governing body for men’s tennis, citing “conflict of interest” because of his role in the Professional Tennis Players’ Association.
