MassDEP fines condo property owner in Maynard for waste site cleanup violations

63 Great Road Partners, LLC is registered to Thomas Goodwin of Burlington.
During an audit inspection, the agency found the condo’s owners had not maintained parking lot pavement, which was required to limit exposure to contaminated soils underneath. Owners also did not incorporate a reference to the Notice of Activity and Use Limitation to its property deed, according to MassDEP.
Soil and groundwater were previously found to have petroleum contamination, according to MassDEP, which prompted a Notice of Activity and Use Limitation first recorded to the registry of deeds in June 2002. The notice requires the pavement be maintained.
The cracked pavement, which was discovered during an October 2019 inspection, has since been repaired. The deed references have also been updated, per MassDEP.
