Dear Editor: My name is Marc Leibowitz. My wife Becky and I have lived in Scotch Plains since 2003. Our two teenage sons, Jonah and Sam, have been educated in our town’s excellent public school system and have participated in a host of extracurricular activities. We belong to Congregation Beth Israel here in town. This is our community and, naturally, we want what is best for it. To be candid, for the most part I dislike politics. As a former Airborne Infantry soldier and War Veteran, I know the difference between a leader and a politician. Leaders work tirelessly for the greater good. They do what is best for the people they serve with empathy, compassion, decisiveness, and principled resolve. Leaders impress me with their selfless sacrifice, while most politicians from both parties do not inspire my confidence.
