KNBN NewsCenter1 June 22, 2021 RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Mayor Steve Allender is in Washington D.C. on Tuesday at the invitation of President Joe Biden to discuss crime and community-based violence intervention programs. He will be joining a small number of other mayors, community and law enforcement officers in this round table discussion on Wednesday. “This is a great opportunity for the sharing of ideas and to present to President Biden and other officials from around the country our approaches to addressing crime through community-based violence intervention programs,” said Mayor Allender. “The White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs heard about Rapid City and our unique approach to these issues.”
