MCCRACKEN COUNTY (WSIL)---Since the beginning of July, the McCracken County Public Library has been working with the Purchase District Health Department to give out free Narcan nasal spray, a brand of naloxone, to counter the effects of an opioid overdose in progress. But why put medicine that helps stop an opiod overdose in a library? "It might not be the first place that comes to your head but it's an institution in your town that is busy, that sees a lot of traffic, that sees people from all walks of life, it's a place from which you would trust information," said Interim Library Director Sarah McGowan.
