A consortium of investors that includes Chinese-backed local developer Sino Integrity Group and Melbourne hospitality operators the Scerri family has struck one of the biggest residential land deals in Melbourneâs north, after acquiring the vast Merri Park estate from the descendants of renowned business figure Sir Cecil Looker.
Merri Park covers 434.6 hectares with the capacity for 1000 new homes.Â
On offer was the opportunity to develop between 900 and 1000 housing lots within a new 110-hectare suburb as part of the already approved Donnybrook Woodstock Precinct Structure Plan (PSP), and a future 199-hectare industrial estate within the Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal precinct.
