Meredith discussing potential uses for stimulus funds April 14, 2021MEREDITH The town could receive more than $600,000 in funding from the American Rescue Plan with suggestions for use including a water extension by the Route 3 roundabout. During the April 5 selectmen's meeting, town manager Phil Warren updated the selectmen on the status of American Rescue Plan funding earmarked for municipalities. The $1.9 trillion relief package in the American Rescue Plan signed into law in March included $130.2 billion to local governments across the country with $19.5 billion of that allotted to towns with fewer than 50,000 people. The money must be used for specific purposes including offsetting the economic impacts of the pandemic, premium pay for essential employees, covering revenue reductions, and work on infrastructure including water and sewer and broadband.
