The American eel is a fish with a fascinating life history that still mystifies scientists, according to Merryspring, in a news release. Kathleen Marciano will speak about the life cycle of the American eel, their cultural significance around the world, and why they are such a valued species in Maine and abroad. She will also speak about American Unagi, a Midcoast Maine-based eel aquaculture company formed in 2014 and their work to cultivate and bring awareness to this enigmatic species.
