Wang Yi conveyed cordial greetings from President Xi Jinping to President U Win Myint. Noting that he is the first foreign minister to visit Myanmar after the country's general election, Wang Yi said his visit is aimed at demonstrating China's anticipation and support for the successful formation of Myanmar's new government as well as Myanmar's efforts to realize national rejuvenation and lasting peace and stability along the development path independently chosen by the country and in the long-term interests of the people of Myanmar. During President Xi Jinping's historic state visit to Myanmar last year, the two sides agreed to build a China-Myanmar community with a shared future that features China and Myanmar sticking together through thick and thin. Over the past year, through close consultations, the two sides have agreed in principle on the action plan of building the community with a shared future, which is gratifying to see. China will always stand firmly with Myanmar to fight the pandemic, promote economic recovery and build the China-Myanmar community with a shared future.
