Charlie Baker on Monday signed an order approving up to 700 Air and Army National Guard personnel for a mission at the request of federal officials. The guard members are expected to leave for Washington "in the coming days" and return to Massachusetts on Feb. 23, according to the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, which said the mission is separate from the 500 personnel who spent last week in the nation's capital to support security around the inauguration of President Joe Biden.
