My draft board with 3 draft scenario's By Robert Burstein on Apr 14, 2021, 8:49pm EDT + I've never shared my draft board on here so this is a first for me. Mine isn't the traditional big board where I rank my favorite prospects 1-250. I'm not a scout, I don't pretend to be one. I don't watch hundred's of hours of game film studying 400+ prospects, I don't interview players or coaches or even have insider information. But I am a football lover. I love both the college & NFL game. I watch a good bit of both, not just my favorite team. I don't watch or follow any other sport (although I do play a lot of golf and live in the golf capital of the USA), so even in the off season I watch games from the previous season I hadn't watched yet. Because I live in the south I watch more SEC & ACC teams then I do Pac-10 for example, but I do try to watch the better match ups from other conferences. And when I watch these game I make a lot of mental notes. Then during this part of the year I go back and study what the scouts say about him. I like to use a handful of different scouts to help form my opinions. Often I will read about a player I'm not familiar with so I try to do my best to research them. Again, I'm not M.Kiper and can't tell you about every player from every team. I watch and read about a lot of players though. Then I form my draft board. Basically I take into account our teams strengths, weaknesses, needs & wants and compare them to how this year's draft shapes up. I then compile the players I would consider drafting at each draft spot we currently have. Just because I don't list a player does not mean that I don't like that player or think they would not fit. It could just be that I think where that player will get drafted does not meet up with which direction I would go at that pick. Or simply I don't think we have a chance to get him. Here's 2 examples, I don't have T.Lawrence on my board. He's my favorite player but I think I have a better chance of winning the Powerball then Miami has of drafting him, so he's not on there. I also think we are loaded at CB and solid at S so I don't have a single DB on my board until the 7th rd. I can't see myself or Flo/Grier taking a DB before the 7th rd. Obviously I could be wrong, but it's my board not there's. When it's all said and done, I think we should draft 1 WR, RB, OT, IOL, DL, EDGE & LB. I'm sure we will double up on something though hopefully OL.
