Latino Life By mysa-admin on March 28, 2007 at 2:31 PM Jim Harrington has a lot of memories of César Chávez. As his attorney, Harrington represented the president of the United Farm Workers in many cases. But it was a memory of Chávez’s lawsuit against two San Antonio radio personalities that brought back comedic memories of the leading civil rights figure. It was when Ricci Ware and Judd Ashmore called Chávez a communist on the air, and Chávez sued them for defamation. Then-Mayor Henry Cisneros and Archbishop Patrick Flores served as witnesses. In depositions for the case, Chávez was questioned about the many other lawsuits in which he was involved. One after another, Chávez was asked what happened in those cases.
