N.J. is getting $10.2B from the feds. Who will follow how the money is spent? Updated 11:12 AM; New Jersey’s coffers are about to get a lot bigger. It’s getting $10.2 billion from the $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package, with $6.4 billion going to directly to the state and the rest, directly to municipalities. But who will be watching how the massive amount of money is spent? The COVID-19 Compliance and Oversight Project will “ensure proper oversight and accountability over the billions of dollars of COVID-19 recovery money being spent throughout New Jersey,” the agency said.
