HORNELL — While many are eager to leave 2020 in the rearview mirror, Alstom is quite literally speeding into 2021. 
The Hornell rail manufacturer is busy is churning out America’s first fleet of high speed rail cars for Amtrak. Attentive Maple City residents may notice some activity on the test track early in the new year. That’s trainset 3, the third next-generation Acela produced by the Hornell workforce, which has been undergoing static testing in recent months. Trainset 4 is right behind, and trainsets 5 and 6 are in the manufacturing line.
