4/20/2021 Residents, businesses invited to apply PAWTUCKET – With funding from a new $100,000 grant, Pawtucket-based Groundwork Rhode Island will be planting 140 trees in areas of Pawtucket and Central Falls this spring and fall and is asking the community for help identifying spots. “We were super excited that we could help Pawtucket and Central Falls,” Amelia Rose, executive director of Groundwork R.I., told The Breeze. “Leandro (Castro) is already overwhelmed by the response from different organizations and residents that want trees.” Castro, program coordinator, said, “We’re getting so many applications from areas that have a high tree canopy cover, and that’s fine, but we want to make sure we … zoom in on the ones that need it the most.”
