Even if youâre an experienced parent, youâll add to your child-rearing toolkit in the free series of Active Parenting classes coached by Tawnee Johnson, Rim Countryâs youth and family educator with Arizona Youth Partnershipâs Starting Out Right program. Due to COVID-19 social distancing and safety precautions, classes that met in-person a year ago moved online, and a new series begins tomorrow, at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, continuing weekly April 7, 14, 21 and 28. There’s a convenient new signup portal as well at azyp.org/youth-and-family-service-programs/ftf-registration (or just email Tawnee and ask her to send the link). Participants earn more than parental coping skills, they also get free diapers; sometimes a limited number of children’s car seats are also available — or gift cards.
