Department of Defence Workers whose employment has been impacted by COVID-19 will be provided with pathways into exciting and sustainable careers in the naval shipbuilding sector under a $5 million program to be delivered by the Morrison Government. The new program is part of the Government’s $1 billion investment package to boost Australia’s defence industry workforce to 70,000 and support thousands of jobs across the country. Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price said while the COVID-19 pandemic had impacted many Australians, the Morrison Government was growing the defence industry workforce to further support small and medium sized enterprises across the country.
