New top security official for Arizona will put focus on cybersecurity of government systems

Gov. Doug Ducey has picked a familiar face to lead the Arizona Department of Homeland Security following longtime director Gil Orrantia's retirement.
Tim Roemer, the state's chief information security officer and former public safety adviser to the governor, will take the helm immediately, Ducey announced Tuesday. 
Cybersecurity operations overseen by Roemer in the Arizona Department of Administration also will move to the Department of Homeland Security.
"Cybersecurity is homeland security," Ducey said in a statement, noting that Roemer "served our state for years with protection and proactiveness at top of mind."
