By Sue Danielson Apr 30, 2021 (Undated) -- A University of Illinois administrator has been named the next President of the University of Iowa. Barbara Wilson, executive vice president and vice president for academic affairs for the University of Illinois System, will start at Iowa July 15. She's getting a five year contract, with an annual salary of $600,000. She succeeds Bruce Herrald who was University of Iowa President from 2015 to this year. He announced in October he is retiring. Wilson’s other administrative roles at Illinois included two years as the university’s Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, two years as executive vice provost for faculty and academic affairs, three years as vice provost for academic affairs, and seven years as head of the Department of Communication.
