The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) has concluded plans to hold its 2021 Mandatory Continuous Professional Development workshop on sustainable building services. The NIOB said in a statement that it recognises the critical role of building services in providing comfort and utility to users and occupants, hence the need to address stability, functionality, economy and utility as key variables of user experience in a completed building. According to the institute, quality planning and expertise in the assembly of components contribute to the lifetime performance of a building. The President of the NIOB, Kunle Awobodu, said stories of leaking pipes, odour from improperly ventilated systems, poor installation of systems disruption in building utility could be attributed to poor workmanship.
