A battle of the Lone Star Conference’s two best teams. That is the only thing to be said about this series going into this weekend, as the 10th ranked Rams will travel to Wilder Park in Canyon to take on the No. 5 West Texas A&M Buffaloes. The winner of this series could very well go on to win the Lone Star Conference regular season title.
Coming into this series, WT is red hot. The Buffs are currently in first place in the LSC, winning 14 straight games and are 24-3 this season while holding a 21-2 conference record. Their performance at the plate as a team has been explosive, as they are third in slugging percentage (.517), second in batting average (.332) and on base percentage (.490) and lead the conference with 268 runs scored, 306 hits, 69 doubles, 27 triples and 229 RBIs.
