The Norfolk Department of Public Health (NDPH) announced Saturday that it will host more closed vaccination clinics next week to vaccinate the 1,900 NPS employees, as well as 400 second doses to people who were eligible in Phase 1a. NDPH is continuing to vaccinate residents and employees eligible in Phases 1a and 1b. This week, the health department hosted two appointment-only clinics, vaccinating a total of 1,167 people. âCurrently, we are in Phase 1b and we are focusing on the top subgroups in that phase. That includes police, fire, and hazmat, K-12 school staff, childcare workers, as well as individuals 65 years of age and older. We are also continuing to vaccinate Phase 1a individuals,â says Norfolk Health District Director Dr. Demetria Lindsay. âDuring these vaccination clinics, we use every dose available, and none go to waste.â
