Obituary: Colin Haydon - a pantomime performance sparked rom

It was a romance that started in rehearsals for a youth pantomime and lasted for more than six decades.
Colin Haydon spotted Margaret when he and his mates went to the youth centre to do gymnastics and show off to the girls. She was there playing table tennis, but she wasn’t impressed by his antics.
It was only after she was cast as principal boy in a show that featured Colin and his brother Jack as tumblers that she really began to notice him. As the weeks went by the attraction flowered into a full-blown romantic connection that eventually led to a marriage lasting 61 years until Colin’s death.
