He was a late target in Michigan State’s recruiting cycle who grew up on another continent and played his high school basketball halfway across North America. Compared to most other recruits, he’d spent little time on the basketball court -- he had played little basketball growing up and missed much of his senior year with an injury -- but showed tremendous upside when he did take to the hardwood.
