One killed, several injured in massive I-41 pileup caused by white-out conditions April 21, 2021 9:39 PM Logan Rude WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. — Interstate 41 was closed for hours Wednesday after sudden white-out conditions caused 20 crashes, including a 48 car pileup. Six people were hospitalized in that crash, and one woman was killed, according to a report from CBS 58. Washington County Sheriff’s Office officials said the largest of the crashes happened on I-41 northbound, just south of Cedar Creek Road. Of the 48 cars involved in the pileup, 38 were damaged. Officials said they treated 26 people at the scene, in addition to the six who were hospitalized.
