Ore. Broadcaster Urges 9th Circ. To Reverse Bargaining Order
Law360 (May 3, 2021, 3:26 PM EDT) -- An Oregon federal judge threatened to upset the traditional test for preliminary injunctions and defied U.S. Supreme Court precedent with an order requiring a broadcaster to bargain with a broadcast workers union, the broadcaster told the Ninth Circuit.
In a brief filed Friday, Nexstar Broadcasting Inc. asked the Ninth Circuit to reverse the injunction U.S. District Judge Michael Mosman issued in March in a case brought by Ronald Hooks, regional director of the National Labor Relations Board's Seattle office. Hooks alleged Nexstar illegally withdrew recognition from National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians Local 51, and the order required the broadcaster...
