Cases, hospitalizations fall while workplace outbreaks increase COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations declined last week, for the second week in a row, the Oregon Health Authority’s weekly COVID-19 report shows. OHA reported 4,896 new cases of COVID-19 between May 3 and May 9. That’s a 12% decrease from the previous week. New COVID-19 related hospitalizations also fell, from 272 to 245. COVID-19 related deaths, however, nearly doubled, from 16 to 31. There were 111,121 COVID-19 tests performed during the week. Of those, 6.1% were positive, down from 6.8% the previous week.
