A vault fire in Santa Clarita left over 180 people without power and resulted in a traffic collision Thursday.
At around 4 p.m. Thursday, first responders received reports of a vault fire at the 2500 block of Anza Drive in Valencia.
“There was a single manhole cover with smoke but no active flames,” said Charisma Murillo, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Southern California Edison arrived shortly after first responders arrived on scene at 4:08 p.m.
Approximately 180 residents are out of power, according to officials.
A minor crash at the northwest corner of the intersection of Avenue Scott and Tibbets was believed to be caused by the power outage caused by the fire.
