Palm Beach County man gets life sentence, deemed too harsh b

For years, Linda Tomlinson has insisted that the man convicted in her son’s 2005 death doesn’t deserve to spend the rest of his life in prison.
While the retired Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy returned to court on Friday and tearfully made the same plea, her cries for justice for her 25-year-old son, Eric Flint, were ignored.
Christopher Dean, who watched as another man drove his SUV into Flint, for the fourth time was handed a life sentence. 
Given Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg's insistence that Dean should die in prison, the ruling by Circuit Judge Karen Miller didn’t come as a complete surprise to Public Defender Carey Haughwout, who represents Dean.
