Oregon Journalism Education honors Skylar Moore for leadership and quality of work. Even in primary school, Skylar Moore loved writing. Her decision during freshman year to further explore that passion in West Linn High School's journalism program has amounted to several impressive accolades, the most recent of which was being named runner-up for the Oregon Journalism Education Association's Journalist of the Year. OJEA is the Oregon chapter of a national collective of journalism teachers. Each year the association honors a handful of student journalists and journalism teachers for their work. "The committee was impressed with the leadership and quality of work that Skylar displayed in work at West Linn High School," Brian Eriksen of Oregon Journalism Education Association said of Moore's selection for the award.
