Parents Complain After Students Watch 'Traumatizing' George Floyd Death for Class Assignment On 4/3/21 at 2:19 PM EDT The parents of Texas high school students said a teacher inappropriately assigned them to act as jurors in the ongoing Derek Chauvin trial, allowing their children to watch the video of George Floyd's death without their permission. Numerous parents of Cedar Hill High School students sent a letter to Cedar Hill Independent School District administrators last week, complaining that their children's mental health may have been negatively impacted by watching the "traumatic" video that depicts Floyd's final moments. The freshman class teacher instructed the students not to tell their relatives about the controversial assignment, but parents nonetheless found out and blasted the high school for allowing such a project.
