editorial@newsandsentinel.com PARKERSBURG — A long-time volunteer with the Parkersburg Homecoming has received an award from the organization for his service to the annual festival. Randy Snyder, who died on Jan. 2 from complications from the COVID-19 virus, received the George Kellenberg Volunteer of the Year Award. The award is named after George Kellenberger, the former Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce executive director who now lives in Florida. Kellenberger, who ran the homecoming for many years, received the first Kellenberger Award. Snyder was supposed to receive the second Kellenberger Award at the Jan. 7 meeting of the homecoming board. Instead, a moment of silence was held at the meeting.
