A dancing banana thrown over “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” by the Buckwheat Boyz, was one of the early examples of going viral. The Flash animation spread like wildfire and went mainstream, appearing in everything from episodes of The Family Guy to being referenced by WWE Divas. “I license this record probably three times a year,” says Lucas. Now, the meme will be a part of the growing NFT craze. Two remixed versions of the NFT will also go on sale, including one that will see the famous banana relegated to a boat while a smiling orange—the signature work of Miami graffiti artist Atomik—takes center stage.
