Pedestrian hit on University Avenue recovering from severe injuries A Gainesville woman who was recently the latest pedestrian to be hit by a vehicle on West University Avenue is recovering from her injuries, her family said. Alexis Ouellette, 24, was hit by a pickup truck about 3:05 a.m. on March 14 at University and Main Street as she was crossing Main Street with a friend, a GPD crash report states. Her mother, Cindy Ouelette, said she has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home. “She had a broken femur, brain bleed, fractured skull and multiple contusions,” Cindy Ouelette said. “She’s on the road to recovery, thank God.”
