The Coalition for Good Governance and Rule of Law, a civil society organization body, has announced plans lead a protest over alleged lopsided recruitment by Petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF) Management Board. NICREL alleged that of the 200 persons employed, only 17 persons were from the oil-producing states The group said Akwa Ibom got 2 slots, Bayelsa 4, Cross-River 2, Delta 3, Edo 0, Ondo 0 and Rivers 2, while Adamawa got 16, Bauchi 9, Borno 13, Kano 19, and Katsina 14. In a letter to Bobboi, Ikpa Isaac, convener of the coalition, said the recent events in PEF were capable of defeating the principles of social cohesion in Nigeria. He noted that the conduct of the parastatal should reflect the spirit of nationalism and give all Nigerians equal opportunity regardless of religious or ethnic affiliations.
