Covid cases in the Penn-Trafford-Jeannette area continued to drop over the last week, with 27 new cases in the seven-day period ending Feb. 2, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Since the pandemic began in March, the six ZIP codes covering most of the three communities have seen a total of 1,620 confirmed cases as of Feb. 2, up from 1,593 on Jan. 26. Residents of these six ZIP codes have taken a total of 8,999 coronavirus tests, 18% of which were positive. Since Jan. 19, 166 tests were administered, 16.27% of which were positive, marking the first time in months that the average positivity rate for the week was below that of the pandemic as a whole.
