Tom Wolf urges people not to travel during the winter storm piling up snow around the state, PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike announced new restrictions on roads and highways set to go into effect at 9 a.m. Monday. Crashes were reported Sunday night on Interstate 78, and Routes 22 and 309. Collisions Sunday led to hours-long closures on a portion of Interstate 80 East between exits 242 and 256, and Interstate 81 North between exits 141 and 145. Wolf is urging drivers to avoid unnecessary travel and encouraging employers to offer telework options if possible, as winter weather conditions are expected to worsen Monday.
