Jose Mourinho finally brought Gareth Bale back into his first XI for a Premier League game – and he was handsomely rewarded.
Spurs swatted aside Burnley in North London today as Mourinho’s side recorded a 4-0 victory.
Prior to today, Bale had only started two games in this competition since returning to Tottenham on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.
But the Welshman justified his manager’s faith by opening the scoring inside two minutes, prodding past Nick Pope from close range.
