Pitt is working with international universities to expand the field of Afro-Latin American Studies

The University of Pittsburgh is partnering with five universities dedicated to Afro-Latin American Studies to expand the field and recruit scholars. With a nearly $2 million grant from the Ford Foundation, the Latin American universities will examine the contributions of African descendants to Latin American history and culture. They also plan to produce materials and trainings for K-12 educators.
