Portland, OregonĀ is famously one of the most human-scaled, creative and livable places in the nation. Unfortunately, many of the underlying efforts that make Portland so great, haven't spread to other cities that could be benefittng from them. Let's make our nation better by learning from this great city and the people who made it that way.
Join us as we deep dive with Portland local experts into the intriguing models, policies, tactics and zeitgeist behind America's most placemade city.
The PlacemakingUS Mastery Series is a small-group program with special attention towards the things you most want to learn about and take away with you.
Beyond meeting with some of the best placemakers in the business, we will spend time learning about what you are trying to accomplish in your work and connect you with people and programs you need to know to advance your work and career from the entire placemaking network.
The Placemaking Mastery Program includes:
Hotel accommodations from Wednesday, August 17th to Sunday, August 21st (ONLY if you select the "Tuition + Hotel" ticket option. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from the group meeting point at our hotel in NW Portland each day.)
Meetups and Tours with some of the best placemakers in the nation to go through their work and to explore their knowledge base and approach towards key placemaking issues.
Active learning excursions to bond the group and expose us to great places around the city.
Career exploration and connectivity sessions dedicated to enhancing your effectiveness by connecting you with industry contacts and strategies that will help you take your impact to the next level.
City topics covered will be based on your interests and could include:
