PLANS to create a set of new holiday lodges on land behind a village pub have been revealed. Ariette Everett, the owner of the Peldon Rose, in Mersea Road, Peldon, has applied to Colchester Council for planning permission to build four new lodges on land behind the pub. Each lodge would be 1.5 storeys tall and have three-bedrooms, a living space, kitchen and bathroom. They will be arranged either side of an access road, two on each side, and also have outside space with a car port for parking. A planning statement, prepared by Pomery Planning Consultants, reads: "The application site is an area of cut grassland to the north of the Peldon Rose Public House and to the west of Colchester Road, and south of the settlement of Peldon.
