He is Levi Phillip Fiddymont, 19.
Fiddymont has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death, as well as dangerous driving causing injury and driving without the appropriate licence.
Interim name suppression, granted when he first appeared in court, lapsed at Christchurch District Court today.
