By Heather Cichowski March 04, 2021 Prince Philip has undergone a "successful procedure for a pre-existing heart condition," according to a new statement from Buckingham Palace on March 4. The Queen's husband will remain in hospital for "treatment, rest and recuperation for a number of days," the Palace also said. The news comes after the Duke of Edinburgh was transferred from King Edward VII Hospital to St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London on March 1 to continue treatment for an infection and undergo further tests for the heart condition. At that time, he was anticipated to remain hospitalized for at least the rest of the week.
