LAS CRUCES – After a year of adjusted learning models, social distancing and cancelled events, high school students in Las Cruces Public Schools began returning to class in-person in late February and early March — just in time to start planning in-person prom. "We talked about (holding a prom) while we were still actually completely, virtually doing school," Las Cruces High senior and student body president Miranda Romero said. "We had talked about doing something through Zoom … just so that it could be something that the seniors are able to remember. But it wasn't until we found out we were going to be coming into school in-person that … we (started to) consider doing it in person."
