Public hearing for MCPL system change postponed indefinitely

WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The process to change library systems for the Marathon County Public Library is going to take a little bit longer.
At Thursday’s meeting of the Marathon County Extension, Education, and Economic Development Committee the committee was agendized to set a date for a public hearing. The public hearing would be for the Marathon County Public Library Board’s Recommendation to move library systems to the South Central Library System.
Committee Chair and District 20 Supervisor Sara Guild said she had received an email request from the Library Board in the morning to postpone setting a date for the public hearing. “They would like to continue conversations at the Library Board level to gather additional information before a public hearing is scheduled.”
